Vegetables in Spain are very cheap at the moment
28 June 2011 @ 13:49
After the "pepino asesino" (killer cucumber) problems a few weeks back, vegetables in the Spanish supermarkets are very cheap at the moment. At least they are in Carrefour and Mercadona. At the weekend in Carrefour, they were selling iceburg lettuces for 45 cents (they are usually double this price) and tomatoes were 90 cents per kilo (usually around €1.50 per kilo). Cucumbers and carrots also looked very cheap, although I can't remember the exact prices. Carrefour were also making a big deal out of the vegetables being Spanish grown.
So much for inflation in Spain...
