A taxi from the airport to Marbella will cost around €65 - €70 euro.  You could however get the train from the airport to Fuengirola for around €2 and connect with the bus to Marbella (around €2 as well).  The bus runs every half hour and the bus station is right beside the train station in Fuengirola.  Or get the train to Fuengirola and get a taxi at the rank beside the train station.  Taxi prices are generally set and a taxi from Fuengirola to Marbella would cost around €35.  Hope this helps.

The food is really good at Estillo Campo. I have eaten there a few times and I think it has raised the bar around Fish Alley which is no harm.  A lot of the restaurants there are fairly indifferent (with the exception of Aroma maybe).  You can keep the price down by skipping the starter.  The main meal is more than enough to fill you.

Came accross this article in Sur in English.  Looks like La Reserva is finally getting it's LFO's.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to calculate the rateable value of a property and how is the minimum income tax calculated (assuming the property is solely for private use)?

Thanks

I was over in La Reserva last November and again in January.  I noticed the grass was yellowing then despite the fact that there had been a fair amount of rain about at that time so I don't think its a drought problem.  I queried it with the Administration and they said it was a seasonal thing.  However I have been there before at that time of year and never before noticed the grass being off colour.  I suspect it may be due to a lack of treatment - fertiliser.  This is also evidenced by the presence of clover.  It's a pity because the grass is generally kept well trimmed and it wouldn't cost a lot to run a few bags of fertiliser over it.
