Hi Mandy

We have two apartments in Jardin 12, both of which are upstairs two bedroomed apartments.  However, we know the guy in the three bedroom below one of ours and he also rents his out.    If your friends are interested, and Jardin 12 is close enough to you, please let me know and I will get in touch with the other owner to check his availability etc.

Our own two apartments are on the following website : www.condadogolfapartment.com.

Kind regards

Debbie

LOCATION OF PROVISIONAL

BUILDING PREVIOUSLY SED AS

ADMINISTRATION OFFICE.

IRM Head Management has informed to

us about the following: the provisional

buildings that were used as Polaris

Customer service point and later as

Office of the Administration, are being

moved into the Golf Course.

All the services, pro-shop, changing

rooms and vehicles for the Golf,

currently located in the Commercial

Centre Al Kasar will be moved into these

huts.

The starting of this is scheduled for

beginning of next December 2011.

This is the relevant section of the e-mail from Millenium - as far as I am aware the building that Jann describes was never used by Polaris as their Customer Services office and was certainly not used by the original resort management company.   We completed on our apartments in June 2008 and the portacabins were already being used as the Customer Services offices.  When they moved out, IRM moved into the portacabins.    Things can often be lost in translation but I doubt that Millenium would describe the old glass sales office as "huts"!!!

If it is the old sales office then that could be made reasonably attractive but I still think it is the portacabins that are being talked about - they could presumably be moved fairly easily whereas  the old sales office is presumably a fixed construction.

Will have to agree to disagree on that one - I don't consider that it is a move in the right direction at all.  We have buggies and somewhere to pay fees in the Al Kazar so why move these tin shacks next to the course?  My understanding is that this is not a temporary club house (to provide bar and restaurant facilities as we expect from a club house) but just somewhere to get changed, pay fees and park buggies!  How is that a step in the right direction ?  It doesn't provide anything that we haven't got already other than a shorter walk for golfers (or a shorter ride in their buggies).

As SVH says in his very sensible post, the most important thing at the moment is to keep Condado looking attractive and presentable both for the current owners and potential buyers.  What kind of impression does it give to have a tin shack next to what is supposed to be one of the top quality golf courses in Spain?!!!

I will also be e-mailing Millenium to express my serious concerns about this ludicrous idea.  It's not about stamping feet and complaining about what we haven't got, but about trying to make the best out of an unfortunate position and not allowing the resort to deteriorate.  Once these shacks are in place, it will be much harder to get them moved than trying to prevent it happening now.

Does anyone know where this ludicrous idea has come from and who has agreed to it?  If it's Millenium then they need to be sacked!

Well said Arlene!  Never mind "wait and see" and "something is better than nothing" - it is perfectly clear which "huts" or "portacabins" are being talked about here.  It is an absolute disgrace that they are even contemplating moving a block of builder's portacabins to the golf course area to provide changing facilitiies, pro shop etc. All that this will achieve is reduce the star rating of Condado still further.  What mentality do these individuals possess that they could possibly think it is a good idea to move these shacks to the golf course?   Darren's photo is not that far off the mark!!

We appear to have taken several steps backwards in terms of facilities and improvements on Condado.  I was really disappointed to read on this form recently that the Clover Bar has closed.  Whilst pleased to  hear of the success of the Condado Club, the resort needed this as an alternative venue - not a replacement!  Whatever its faults, the Clover Bar was well fitted out with excellent furnishings that you would expect for a high quality resort.

There are obviously still people who see every development on Condado as positive, whatever it might be!  We still love the time that we spend at Condado and still believe that the resort has true potential, but let's be realistic - this latest ludicrous idea is really taking the piss!

I have received a rental enquiry this week from a group of golfers looking at visiting Condado next April - I am frankly embarrassed at the thought of golfers arriving to find a tin shack next to the course instead of a Club House, temporary or otherwise.

Rant over - and please don't bother telling me that we should be patient and that it was always a ten year plan etc etc.  I am well aware of all that but it is now over 3 years since we completed on our apartments and we now have less facilities, and poorer quality facilities, than we had two years ago.

Darren,

I am with you on this one.  Whilst at times I try to stay positive about what we have - mainly because we are stuck with it at the moment - in truth we don't have anything close to the concept or facilities that we bought into.

Each time I arrive at Condado, I wish I had bought at La Torre or Mar Menor.  They really do look like 5* resorts whereas ours looks like a very inferior 3* at the moment.  I personally don't like the Al Kazar town centre - it looks like a prison to me, completely lacking in character, but I am well aware that there are others that like it.  It is certainly a very poor comparison to the town centre at La Torre.

There are things I like about Condado but even the eternal optimists and the "glass full" brigade cannot deny that our resort looks untidy, shabby, and is a far cry from that which we all thought we were buying into.  The services we have are appalling managed - in fact if you were rating Condado on the basis of facilities and service, it probably wouldn't even achieve 2 star status!

As you so rightly say, we can't do anything about it but we don't have to like it, and right now, I don't like it!!!

Rant over - wait for the eternal optimists to shoot us down for being negative!
