We have owned our appartment for 18 months now and I have to say any issues have been resolved through SIFA and well managed by Baika there. Some have been quite major (like not being able to open the fridge/freezer properly because the units were too close to the door. Always they have been satisfactorily sorted and reasonably quickly. However as one who has had first hand experience of SAain for over 40 years I would encourage a more chilled attitude - it is Spain after all. I'm astonished in general at the fact that things generally get done when promised these days. Its almost the jet age now compared with years ago when promises to do things were measured in monthly  rather than weekly or daily terms!

Santa Maria Village (SML) is a first class development and those who bought to use and who have completed are enjoying one of the best developments in a fantastic area with great local facilities a short drive away.

The fact that there are banks lending on the property , lawyers supporting completions and the utilities fully connected and working will underline that this is not a property with any inherent legal problems. This development like many others got caught in the the administrative fog of the Marbella corruption scandal.

The Developer has been fully transparent as regards the minor issues that there are and has recently discussed the case with the new Mayor's office and is reassured that the actual granting of the paper licence is now within reach. For those who have done their research will know that everything has been done to comply with the granting by administrative silence which has been sufficient for years past.

If you happen to be one who has put their deposit down in the hope that you'll earn a profit in the short term you will be disappointed. if you are not then just take a pragmatic view and enjoy the development as we have and put aside your fears - SML is not and never has been a troubled property. Join those of us who have enjoyed a year or mor eof a beautiful development.

Following yesterday's Meeting would it not be agood idea to let every member of the community know about this website and use it as a commion means of communicating between ourselves and the promoter and (even) the Administrator. I for one shall suggest this to Malcolm who did such a sterling job yesterday rsponding to the various gripes and moans from the attendees. I personally hope that in future meetings can be held in a more constructive mood. I guess that will not happen until the Administrator gets his act together!

Thanks Debbie for the info. We've just got back from a fantastic 15 days in our appartment over Christmas New Year. I too have spoken to Deborah at Global and queried money being taken from my account without so much as a receipt. She claimed they didn't have my address! anyway she has promised to let me have all of the info by e-mail and post to our address in the UK. I'll not hold my breath! Hope the weather is still holding and look forward to hearing the date of the first community meeting (and hopefully the socialising that may follow.
