If you go the F & C O website and click on legalisation you'll see the date of receipt of applications they are working on at present.

you'll see the current one I have posted below.

Postal Application Update - Monday 23 July 2007.

We have currently opened all mail received up to 5 July 2007, applications received after this date will be processed as soon as possible. To confirm that applications sent by registered or special delivery have arrived in our office please contact Royal Mail. Please visit this page on Monday 30 July 2007 for a further update

We sent ours just before the last holiday weekend in May and got it back in the early 20's of June..and that was from and to our solicitor as you describe.

Seems that it is quite a slow process. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is better to know the truth than to wait expectantly for the post everyday.

good luck.

Mark,

only just picked up your post and assume you have had your POA sent off. We recently did the same thing.

One word of advice. Turn around at the F & C O is currently three to four weeks. However, if you travel to London you'll get it in a couple of hours. If I was doing it again and time was of the essence I'd travel to London on the Monday morning and arrange for DHL to pick it up from me at the F & C O. They'll gurantee delivery in 24 hours for little over £35 if you book on line. That way your POA is with your lawyer not long after you get back home.

Good luck

Dear All

I'm sure we were also told that there would be shutters on the main windows and as far as I remember, we have seen them in place.  Unfortunately we weren't given a translation of the overall specifications for the house, so I didn't reallly know what to expect.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that the community will be gated and were happy to spot the alarm system.  Like Anne and Jim, we were not given the option of grilles - or any other option, come to think of it!!  By the time we got our first photos, the builders had already tiled the kitchen and bathroom - when we queried it we were told that they had tried to e-mail us....but in hind sight, I'm not convinced.

We have not been given a completion date either (we are the street behind the swimming pool) Again, I assume this is because we are disputing the size of our driveway.  We were hoping to complete in the second week in April but I don't see that this is posible....especially as there may not be deeds.  I am now starting to get a bit fed up.

Any enlightenment from anyone, about ANYTHING happening would be of great interest to us.

Hope to meet you all soon

Janette

Dear Jaybe

Glad to hear that you can complete!  I was, however, a bit bamboozled by the "40 days" that you had mentioned in an earlier post. We were not aware of this time-scale.  Do you know if this is essential?   We were hoping to complete in the second week in April but haven't had anything official.   We are still discussing the matter of our driveway with our lawyer....

Any posts on this would be helpful

Looking forward to meeting you all

Janette

Hi,

Does anyone have any concerns with the size of their driveway and the inability to park a normal family car in it?

As most of us will have bought off plan it was somewhat disappointing to find out now that the development is built that some plots have more than ample parking space yet in others there is not enough room to use the driveway. It looks almost as if the architect sized up his plans for a car in the driveway but forgot that you had to open the doors to get in and out of it.!

We are still waiting on a reply from our lawyer to find out what our options are. Has anyone so far encountered this problem and had a resolution?

That said, looking forward to finally completing in the near future, albeit much later than expected.
