Dear AH resident / owner ....

I received a very prompt email today from Antonio Carillo Sanchez who is our VP.

He has written to me in Spanish and therefore I have spent some time this evening translating into English - the result is pretty much an accurate reflection of what is contained in his message, some wording is adjusted as it wouldn't make any sense translated verbatim.

I have sent a copy to 'Webster' as she is able to communicate in Spanish just to add a second opinion upon my translation. I have invited her to comment accordingly once she has time to read the text.

If you would like access to the original in Spanish I am more than happy to send a copy to you. I need a personal email address for this purpose please, I can't forward via the p.m facility.

The message is as follows:

Quote:
Dear neighbour. I am Antonio and I am contacting you to clarify the points you have raised

1º. I n all honesty I do not have any personal problem with the president (DB), indeed it appears as though he has taken issue with me and I do not understand why.

2º. The problem of the gardening is not mine alone, many of the other neighbours have the same views. This not only relates to the maintenance of the gardens but also the cleaning of the stairs and indoor swimming pool they are not as they should be and this you should understand as it is viewable to yourself.

3º. In respect of the subject of the extra works, which I refused to pay for. I alone said that the works should be clarified as I am keeping an eye out for the economic interests of the community and all of the owners. I understand that all works should be carried out within the working hours hired in accordance with the contract and that only the plants and materials used should be paid for by the community. It would appear that they have subcontracted to another business to carry out works of gardening. Dearest neighbour do you see this as normal, I only ask you this question?. In respect of my position to pay for the business hired, I am not only watching for your interests and those of my own and the other owners, it is to watch out for our community as a whole and to ensure that its green areas shine with splendor and no other reason if you understand me.

4º On the subject of satellite dishes I do not know if you are aware that in the last meeting the majority agreed to withdraw all the dishes since they seem to be causing deterioration to the roofs and because of the cabling which is attached to facade. It is agreed to use the telecommunications building for the placement of and businesses were asked to quote for the development of this. The last quote that was delivered to the President was I believe in the region of some 2,500 €., an amount that I believe is not excessive in order to provide owners that at present only have access to the TV system in the telecommunications building. You may understand that all this is better for the community.

I want you to see and understand that all this is to improve the good of the community and that I have no issues with anyone just to make it clear.

If you require further explanation do not hesitate to contact me. Speaking is how we will be able to understand each other. I am going to give you my mobile number if you need to call me. Mobile ... (I have refrained from printing Antonio’s number as this have been given to me on a personal level).

Greetings

Please make of this what you wish. ACS has at least responded and in answer to the 4 specific questions I asked him. It at least has given the opportunity of a right to reply and provides you with an opportunity to consider both viewpoints.

One thing to note please - this has taken up quite a lot of my personal down time to sort out and whilst I do not mind helping out from time to time towards community issues, I do not intend to become a slave to the forum in order to sort these type of niggles out.

You have a fair bit of the picture now and it is up to individual choice in terms of how you respond.

Alan and self are doing some work in relation to the legal position in respect of access to non-Spanish television channels but once this has been sorted it is up to the Pres and VP to resolve community issues accordingly or via the voting process.

Hope this helps!!

Best wishes,

Dave H

Hi again,

Just some clarification for A.H owners. I spoke at length with Dave B (this Wednesday) who ran me through the work our contracted gardeners have been undertaking and which has led to the issue with our V.P. When I was last out a couple of weeks ago, I saw that landscaping work had been completed to the embankment side of the lawned area on the lower level of A.H. This has covered in the mess that pre-existed, where kids had been using the embankment as a short cut to the path (so the grass was constantly trampled etc).

Additionally 2 other areas of the lawn have been re-seeded.

The work has vastly improved the look of this area and I for one welcome the work given the very rewarding aesthetic results.

The other works relates to improvements around the lawn area by the pool, where it meets the second embankment of the large feature rocks. It was discovered that the salt content of the rocks was killing off the grass. A trench has been dug and filled with material to filter off the salted water, which transits through these rocks onto the grass (after it rains etc) and thus this should protect the lawn in future.

Again I cannot see why this is a problem - nobody wants to sun bathe in a deadened patch of grass and certainly is does nothing to enhance the appearance of the pool area.

Yes I am a pal of Dave B and I fully support him on his initiative to get this work done but equally if I didn't agree with his actions I am blunt enough to say so, The V.P evidently is not as proactive as Dave in his commitment to A.H and now that I posses the detail (which I have seen for myself) I agree that as a community we should consider the V.P's position accordingly.

I thought it only right to highlight the background - the rest is for your good selves to determine!

The best of wishes,

Dave

Dear A.H rentor,

I am intending to set up a cooperative of interested parties to form a consortium of owners who rent out their properties on the A.H complex.

The idea is quite simple and intended to maximise opportunities for rental at A.H. If you would like to know more please p.m. for a more detailed explanation.

Please note at this time this is strictly for owners of property at Andalus Hill only. You can however p.m. me to register an interest if you own property on one of the nearby developments as the cooperative may evolve further if required.

Best wishes,

Dave H

Hi Dave,

You have my full support on this one as I have long stated that MSOL are not up for the job of adminstrators to A.H. Equally if our VP canot represent the greater good in respect of the community, then equally a replacement should be sought.

Do we have any candidates for the role?

Good luck,

Dave H

Hi all .......

A really great trip out last week - weather was very good too.

A few pointers:

1. A.H looking in good shape and much better in terms of maintenance and gardens etc.

2. We need a new sign at the front (replace the rusty effort currently on display) and the indoor pool door needs fixing, it will not close properly. However the pool was clean and warm, the aforementioned are very minor gripes really.

3. There is a sign suggesting the imminent development of the commercial centre positioned at the turn off onto our street. This of course is great news for all.

4. My builder has done a top job of extending our patio area - see updated pics on our website home page (www.andalusdreams.com) - the apartment, apartment block and pool were all taken on this trip. For details of the builder (highly recommended) please p.m. so as not offend the rules.

5. I understand MSOL are breaking up as a business - is this the opportunity we need to appoint new administrators?

6. The cracks look the same as they did when last out - the one under our stairwell appears stabilised and hasn't shifted since first noticed last July suggesting these are very much from settlement. Dave B is monitoring all the blocks where these have appeared and will discuss with K.M as required.

The DICO complex next door is finished and looks great, the rough land at the side of A.H has been cleared of palm trees and is ready for development (I understand the tennis courts are going in?)

All in all the area is coming on and starting to look very upmarket - I can see that the rentals market will be on the up in the near future as holiday makers realise how attractive this part of Playa De Vera has become.

Hurrah!!

Best wishes,

Dave H icon_biggrin.gif
