Hi Raileng,

I would suggest that you need to promote Granada, Granada, Granada.

Apart from this, price is everything. Just drop your price, and pass on the reduction to your key holder. After all, they too need income.

So true Steve.

But we tend to buy on sentiment. If prices are rising we all want to buy. If falling we all hold back. What or where the property is seems to matter less than the sentiment!

Hi,

Would anyone buy a property in Fuerteventura today or should I wait longer?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

I was going to buy last year but pulled out, mainly because my wife had a few doubts, and looking at the way prices are falling now think she was right.

However, it appears to be great development that has been well built and with time will flourish, once the buyers return. Some snagging problems, such as water ingresss around windows, could be easily fixed with  mastic!

As for renting out - I think it has more to offer than rentals on the coast, due to skiing in winter months and fantastic countryside to explore in the summer. And, of course, Granada is possibly one of the most beautiful cities to be found anywhere in the World. Don't rely on rental income, but think of it as a life-style purchase. The other thing to make a few enquiries about is 'What is goin to happen to the 'sister' development, and if it isn't completed, how might that effect Balcones?

Anyway, good luck!

Chris

Community thread: buying at balcones de iznalloz

Hi Woody,

The Granada area has experienced a 'mini boom' and the demand for property high, resulting in prices holding out compared to the coast.

If you look at Spanish House Price Index at Kyero dot com, you can get a true and fair view of valuations.  However, don't forget that Balcones resales will appeal to UK purchasers and not Spanish buyers, so the credit crunch will be felt more. At the end of the day, the property is only worth what others are prepared to pay as a luxury item (holiday home) and not as somewhere to live.
