Bill/Lisa - I certainly wouldn't say "everyone transferring from ACC"...  Most buyers who've literally been hanging on for >4 years have either applied for refunds &/or sued HUMA, solicitors, etc., etc.  HUMA have no money - cheques are bouncing - they certainly can't be trusted and I wouldn't spend one penny more with them when there are other options available.  Somehow, HUMA has managed to persuade some people to transfer from ACC - notice that they have never given us an option of a refund!!!!  What does that tell you?  Unfortunately, for some poor buyers, I completely understand they feel they have no other option but to transfer since they've sunk quite a lot of money into ACC already!  I wish you all the best whatever you decide and hope it works out.

Well - just picked this up from a very reliable source:-

The urban planning department of the Junta de Andalucia has just rejected the Cuevas de Almanzora town hall’s proposed general urban plan (PGOU) to build 100,000 properties on land zoned as non-consolidated urban and uncategorised urban. Cuevas de Almanzora only has around 12,000 inhabitants, so the junta has rejected its plan to provide housing for 238,000 as not being rational and sustainable. I think the Almanzora Country Club is part of this mess, and there will be no solution until a plan is agreed. The Cuevas de Almanzora town hall is run by the Popular Party, and the Junta de Andalucia by the Socialist.

Jackb - We paid deposit 3 years ago (6,000 Euros).  HUMA refusing to refund so we're resigned and put it down to experience, as it could cost us a lot more to pursue through the courts.  Just feel sorry for all those who paid substantial sums of money.  Can't understand how they get away with it!!!

Our sale failed last June simply because the seller wanted to underdeclare... Our lawyer said "no", not only is it illegal but you could be in trouble with tax authorities for fraud!! 

When we refused to underdeclare, the seller walked away - by that time we had spent quite a few thousand euros!!!!

From our understanding, the authorities are now clamping down hard when they discover BM so not a good idea in my humble opinion.
