We used Hnos Garcia from Torrevieja. They have three stores - the nearest one being on the main road on the left just before Carrefour.

They have a large selection, deliver on-time and check everything before they leave.

The contract with Securitas to patrol La Finca has been terminated by the builders. In it's place the ayuntamiento of Algorfa have increased Police patrols throughout the area, have commisioned the building of two Police huts (one at each main entrance) and are in the process of installing CCTV throughout the site. I have spoken to police representatives, and they are keen to have a very visible prescence on La Finca as the mayor and the council regard it as their jewel in the crown so to speak. Look through the photos posted and you will see the hut at the main entrance during it's construction. There is also a sign next to it explaining about keeping safe and showing the police's commitment to security. There are telephone numbers on the sign should you ever need to use them and the operators speak english. They have a commitment to respond to all calls within 7 minutes.

All this is a free of charge service thanks to Algorfa Ayuntamiento which I applaud.

Hi all,

i've just returned from 2 weeks at La Finca and can report as follows:-

Lots of work being carried out on R6, R7 & R8 - I took several pictures which I will post shortly. I received an 'official' booklet (well - printed from a PC) from the sales office giving updates on teh hotel and new clubhouse - both should be ready for completion early 2008. The hotel is being marketed as 5* with turkish baths, spa and conference facilities. From what I saw, they are progressing well and should be ready as described.

Baybrooks Restaurant has been beset with red tape problems regarding their gas supply but hopefully this should be resolved very soon. Johnsons opens in the next two weeks (I peered through the shutters and they were just fitting it out).

There is a new bar in Algorfa called La Ermita which looks really good (opens tonight) and we tried the vestry restaurant on Monday and it was excellent.

There are 3 banks on the Commercial Centre all of which are pretty good. I would have a chat with all of them to see who can get you the best deal.

All post is held at Algorfa main sorting office (in the main square) but there are post boxes currently being built near the 5th fairway.  I will check them out when I am there next week

Just had some guests return this week who inform me that the new bar 'Baybrooks' is still not open, as is Johnsons the Supermarket. I will try and have a chat with the shop fitters whilst I am there. Also, they said the clubhouse and hotel have really come on a lot since they were there back in March.

I will take pics of all of these as well as R5, R6 (incl. pool areas) and post on this site when I return in early July.

If anyone else wants any photos let me know as I love walking round the development in the early morning sun with my 1 yr old
