Hi,

As you know things are not always what they seem in Spain and you end up adapting the same attitude after a while, because you never know when things will be completed fully. 'Manyana' is the favourite saying for most builders and the same is true to some degree with Orcelis.

If you have been over recently you will know that the pool and the surrounding area were supposed to be finished by the end of May. Sorry, that's come and gone!

The Grassed area hasn't taken too well and I'm afraid the ballustrading has still to be erected, but look on the bright side, at least we have tarmacadum roads now!

I received an email of our president yesterday which basically says, could be the end of July/August before the rest is finished!

Regarding burglaries, you will know that there are an awful lot of workmen round the site from our own development and others, in fact as with any new urbanisation it is a magnet for casual workers who seem to drift in and out. The problem is, nobody knows who they are and often if an opportunity presents it's self they will take it. My wife and her friend did have their bags stolen, unfortunately, but at the end of the day they left them on the table in the front room and allowed themselves to be distracted by a 'builder' who wanted to talk to them about ballustrading! Problem is whilst one got their attention, an accomplice was quick to nip in and pinch their belongins. The moral is - be careful and don't leave doors and windows open to tempt crooks.

Do not let minor incidents like this colour your views. The urbanisation is turning into something quite special and is the envy of many other people who have bought with other companies. The residents are great and I miss not being there at the moment.

You might be one of those who I've not yet met, if so pop, in and see us to introduce yourself.

As those of us who have completed with the builder through the notary and with a solicitor, most things run quite smoothly, and you will get a copy of the  escaturia simple (I think I've named it right) which confirms that the land and the house belong to you, even though the rest of the fine details have yet to be included and the deeds issued.

We moved in during February and will not look back, it's there when we can get to it and is our home from home!

Hope we will meet soon.

Hi Sping,

Thanks for the information I will try to do a litlle more research. We bought early (3 years ago off plan) from Orcellis and they did not have the alarm included at the time, although on the newer sales it would appear that they are include in the package.

Hi,

We have recently moved into our new place, then had to down tools and come back over to the UK. We have had security grills fitted and noticed that in our home insurance policy we had to be alarmed and the alarm had to be monitored!

As we cannot get over again for a good few weeks, and to possibly save a little leg work when I do, I was wandering if anybody on the Playa golf complex had any idea which companies in the area were reputable and how much a system costs?

Look forward to receiving a bit of a helping hand from my neighbours

Chris

I know the contents of the Tonight programme came as a ahock to many, but it just goes to show that when taking the biggest decision of your life (to move into another country) you need to look at the negatives as well as the positives. The National Health Service, for all it's faults is still a fantastic resource, the problem is, as shown in the programme, it is taken for granted. What we really should have (especially as we are part of the EU) is a reciprocal agreement with the medical authorities in all countries, after all would you rather cheat, lie and pay out for flights to and from the UK when all you needed to do was go to your local hospital. As one of the guests on the show explained, he, as I would want to, decided that the best way to integrate was to immerse himself in the local culture. Brilliant, but unfortunately not rewarded.
