I think the original Polaris promise of "properties will be painted every 5 years and covered in your community fees" have to be dismissed. They made a number of false promises
The resort managers ultimately put together the budgets each year, and these are agreed by the presidents. I would think it is very transparent since day 1 that these budgets never made allowance for property painting. Could say that our elected presidents or ML have never done enough to communicate this possibly. I am sure it has been debated though for several years now, so I am not under the illusion that my community fee was putting aside monies for this
The quotes - I dont know what the right price should be. I think the full service tho of pressure wash, tending to cracks, and two coats with quality paint would not be cheap. If painting the resort, I assume this also includes the costs for painting walls not necessarily on our apartments (eg Al Kasar, perimeter, sports areas etc...). If ML have put it out to tender and quotes all coming back similar, then I reckon we are seeing a true price. Not every tender would be opportunistic with such a valuable contract at stake
I would support paying a little extra or trimming the budget elsewhere - for me, having the resort uniformally painted is better in long run than every man and his dog doing it piecemeal, but thats just my opinion and wanting to see a professional job
