I cannot imagine anyone who has met Moyra having an issue with the name tag "interior designer".  Possibly "furniture consultant" or "personal shopper" would be better as that describes the job that she does but the flair and imagination she displays is not really captured in that title. My daughter has completed on Phase 3 having swopped from Phase 4B and has used Moyra's services and the title is simply an indication of what one can expect from that person. Moyra was left to her own devices to choose artwork, curtains and some furnishings and the apartment is perfect without breaking the bank.

Clients are more interested as you say in the bottom line and when you consider that my daughter spent almost 3,000 euro less that the Calidona package price and has a far superior apartment with absolutely everything in it and on her terraces, I think that says it all. Hewood, Canela, whitetrio and micasaaqui on this thread also think this about their experiences.

Pam1966 spain I understand that you have had a bad experience with someone who ripped off your clients royally but surely if your experience with an interior designer on another resort has nothing to do with Roda Golf, Superior Interiors or the services to which the previous posts refer you would be better putting them on a forum for that resort so that potential clients are forewarned and not here which is a thread started by people who have had a highly satisfactory resolution to their quest for a tastefully and well furnished property without spending the earth.

We are simply posting about our very good experiences to help people who are confused and like us want someone to wave a wand and it will all be done no matter what job title they use. Good luck to all new owners in Roda Golf especially those on the new Phase 4.

Thankyou for the update Hugh Man. I sent my Proxy vote to Moira and she had already reported the facts from the meeting to me on Saturday afternoon, which are much as you have reported and I am sure that we will have the Minutes in the next month or so following the translation.

I will only take issue with one point on the information that you have posted and that is on the budget approved. The original budget was 1,066,369 which was for twelve months according to my papers and the new budget which you have quoted is 789,600 for eleven months. The new budget is a reduction of 26% if we compare the two as being for the same period but given that one is for 12 months and the other for 11 months the actual reduction is from 977,505 ( the original figure over 11 months) and the cost saving is actually 19%. I only point this out as anyone who was calculating what it would cost them will be very dissappointed as the saving will be less than 20% and not 30% reduction in their fees. In reading both Moira's report and the one you have posted I appreciate that there will be an effort to reduce the figure from the approved budget which is a maximum and I wish them well in their endeavours.

Well done to Moira on her election and it was nice to see the strong turnout at the meeting and the fact that she was elected by a very strong majority of 171 to 87 shows huge trust and a real vote of confidence in her ability to represent all of the residents in the resort.  It is also great to see that we have a fully qualified accountant as the Treasurer who is also a serving Vice President in the Resort. They will have a difficult job but with the members from the old committee to pass on their information I have every confidence that our General Entidad is in good hands.

Hello Viv

I can save you some time. I have already spoken to Marisol and her office twice on this issue and it appears that they are not at fault. You are correct in that the next meeting was agreed to be held in mid February as you will see in the minutes and this was voted on and specified in the mandate which the Temporary Committee received at the first meeting in the week before Christmas.

It would appear that the next meeting ie Saturday 30th, was arbitrarily changed to Saturday 30th by theTemporary Committee without any regard to the initial mandate from the first meeting and the fact that owners will have made travel arrangements. I have since clarified that the meeting was scheduled to be held in mid February as far as anyone attending the first meeting understood (I have spoken to three people so far).

I am not 100% sure of what is going on but it is not something that I personally am happy with as a lot of people booked flights on the understanding that there would be a meeting in mid February. Hopefully the Temporary Committee will be challenged on this as it smacks of rushing through something without fear of a full representation of owners. Maybe there is nothing amiss and I am reading too much into this but  as a retired solicitor I am very keen that all committees (particularly those which purport to represent me) are fully transparent and honour any committments they have made which is clearly not the case here.

I have made sure that my vote is being counted and have tasked the person holding my Proxy to challenge the change of date and to make my feelings known on this issue.

26 Jan 2010 10:55 AM:

I have been reading this thread with interest and trying to keep up with all the various comments. I own an apartment on Phase 1 and the formation of the General Entidad was something we budgeted for in our first year AGM and then in Year 2 because it was not formed we took the money back out of the budget which reduced the community fees for everyone in our Phase. We have been warned by the administrators at each AGM that the General Entidad would be formed when the resort was mostly built and although the timing of the meeting to set up the General Entidad was not good for most of us in Christmas week, most owners knew that this would happen at some stage.

The important thing now is to ensure that we are represented by people who are prepared to ensure that the Resort is run properly and without any interruption in any of the services. Up until now the security services and rubbish collection have just happened and as far as I am aware with no complaints or breakdown in service, so as far as I am concerned it is vital that this continues although in the current climate there is probably scope for some savings on the costs of these services.

I understand what Hugh Man is saying in that it is an onerous responsibility for those who take on the positions on the committee and I agree with this wholeheartedly. We owe these people a lot of thanks as it is a voluntary job which requires a lot of time and effort on our behalf. We should remember that they have the support and back up of a very experienced team of administrators who have a highly respected and well qualified lawyer on their team so we can rest assured that they will have strong guidance on all aspects of the job they are taking on. (I know that the administrators will have to be elected at the meeting but in speaking to some friends who attended the last meeting in December I understand that the administrators have offered to do this work for no fee so I doubt that the meeting will not appoint them if they are doing the work for nothing.)

I hope that as many people as possible make sure that their vote is counted by passing on their Proxy form to someone they trust. I have sent my Proxy vote to the former President of Phase 1 Apartments Moira as requested in her posting as our new President Peter Beard will not be in attendance.
