I never know about the need to carry the passport and certificate. Thanks for the info, don't really want to pay any unnecessary fines. Good to see you back Antonio.

Dear Antonio, I have just finished watching this informative video clip about residence in Spain. I am British, my wife is American. I have not had any problems with residencia, but my wife is still in limbo. She has an NIE number, padron, SIP. We are both in our 70's and rent a property long term. We are both extremely worried that she will be deported. We were married in the States five years ago and we left England after living there for four years. She has an American Passport. What can we do to be legal? We are in touch with the Embassy in Alicante and they tell us that their is a dispute with some particular wording in a residencia document that cannot be resolved. She would like to go back to America to see her family for maybe the last time, but afraid to travel because it may be that she will not be allowed to come back to Spain. We came here together and she feels that because we both came here together and that I will not be going with her to see her family, she will be barred. PLEASE ADVISE.

We live in Benimeli.
