We visit little Talia and find out about her journey through the Spanish health system

Beautiful 20 month old Talia weighs just 5 kilos and doctors are at a loss to understand what is actually wrong with her. Today her mother, Shani, tells us about her struggles over the past 20 months in trying to get doctors in Spain to understand what is affecting Talia's growth.  Until today it still remains a mystery.

Follow Talia's progress on Shani's blog.

The area that doctors are looking into are Mitochondrial Diseases. Talia is taking Carnicor and Co-enzyme Q10.

Good reference websites include www.mitoaction.org and www.umdf.org

Thank you for sharing Talia's story with us. We will pray for her and hope that at least someone can confirm what is affecting her growth. She seems a very happy and lovely girl. Please keep us up to date.

How strange with modern medicine they can't tell what her actual problem is. All the best to Talia and family for the future. Paula

Have they tried to contact University of Navarre? They have got an excellent Medical Investigation center and I am sure will be able to help.
