Easter Holidays in Port Aventura

Port Aventura is a purpose-built holiday resort near Salou, on the Costa Daurada, in eastern Spain. It is one hour south of Barcelona and a mere 15 minutes from Reus airport.

After the winter season, the park opens on March 21st and is in full swing by Easter. This is perfect for families that have booked a hotel in Salou or directly a hotel in Port Aventura. The climate in this part of Spain is quite gentle and mild at Easter, with an average temperature of around 17ÂșC during the day and little risk of rain.

This resort is extensive and variable, with facilities for all age groups. It has a theme park, an aquatic park and a beach club, together with a selection of excellent hotels. A simple holiday booking can solve your entire Easter holiday requirements in one package.

The theme park, which is divided into five main areas, representing world regions, provides a variety of rides and experiences. From the seriously scary rides, such as Dragon Khan in the Chinese section to the gentle boat ride from the Mediterranean to the Chinese areas, there is something for everyone.

Also in the theme park are shows for all ages. There is one in each section, the Far West, Imperial China, Aztec Mexico, The Mediterranean and Polynesia, all reflecting the culture of that area. A number have the additional attraction of being interactive, inviting all the family to participate and enjoy the range of entertainments, from parakeets to puppets.

Children have a wide choice with levels of activity for teenagers to tots. Younger children are particularly catered for in both the theme park and the aquatic park. There are special rides and play areas just for the little ones. The indoor area of the aquatic park is ideal for young families, providing safe water fun, relaxing areas and restaurants, all under one roof.

When it comes to eating, the choice is just as varied. The restaurants also reflect the culture of the area of the park. It is possible to eat your way around the world in the course of your holiday and there is sure to be something for everybody's taste, somewhere.

Easter 2010 marks the 15th anniversary of PortAventura and there are plans for special events to mark this milestone. So any family choosing the resort this year will have an even wider choice of events, activities, shows and facilities to enjoy together in stimulating and congenial surroundings.
