The Search for a Missing Diamond

Marbella is a very interesting place to live, the lifestyle, scenery and people make it a great place to call home. Many people take their Spain holidays in this popular region but I am always personally happy that I can stay in the area all year round.

The town of Marbella is well known for its luxury and celebrity residents, but at the moment it is known for something less savoury.

At the moment the British press are going crazy for a story about a man who stole a 12,000 Euro diamond which was later found in his stomach. It is good to know that the diamond has now been returned to the owner; although I am not sure I would personally want it back knowing where it had been all this time!

This story definitely shows that the Spanish police are switched on and that they are even prepared to rummage through poo. That’s got be dedication, surely.

DiamonI just thought that I would share the story with you, although it is a little gross. It all started when a woman, who has not been named, was sitting in a restaurant in Marbella when her handbag, which contained cash and a diamond pendant worth 12,000 euros, was stolen from here.

Later on that day the police carried out a routine check and discovered the woman’s handbag in a car with four men. The police became suspicious when one of the men in the car appeared to put something in his mouth. The men were then taken for an x-ray and the diamond was discovered in the stomach of one of the men.

It took three days for the police to retrieve the diamond. Were they waiting for him to “let it out”? I suppose they knew that eventually it would have to.

See I told you, that is dedication.
