"No Patrick, for the hundredth time, we are not interested in a Cave House".  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Cave Houses and some of our best friends live in them, but we were looking for campo Country, but most of all the Spanish life.

After spending 15 years on the Costa and making wonderful British friends, we felt it was time to integrate into the country of our choice and mix with the Spanish.

After 2 days with Patrick and his lovely wife Sally, we set off in search of our goal.  We found ourselves in the beautiful town of Huescar.  It took us only moments to park the car and find the only Estate Agent in town, the charming Miguel.  Two days later and after several viewings which involved mainly goats and their perplexed herders, we found ourselves once again travelling at break neck speed in the countryside.

Miguel turned to me (yes of course he was driving at the time) and asked the question "Trebor (pause) estaria interesado en una reformacion? (Trevor, would you be interested in a reformation)  The affirmative answer found us standing outside our new home, Las Cayetanas.

A typical country cortijo(farmhouse) with stunning views north to the Sagra Mountain and South to the Sierra Nevadas.  We were captivated.  Not only with the vistas, but once inside we found a time gone by and just waiting patiently for us to arrive.

6 months later and with the patient help and guidance of our Spanish Builders Jesus and Pedro, we were ceremoniously handed the keys to our new life.  Every part of the Cortijo had been sympathetically restored to it's original authenticity, but with all the conveniences of  21st century living.

Why not come and enjoy a stay in  our beautiful self-contained
Cortijo.  Accommodation is  for 2 - 6 persons in style all year round.  It is an ideal base for walking, photography, fishing, bird-watching, riding, touring or just chilling.
