Cabo Roig - A Great Holiday Destination on the Costa Blanca

Easy to reach from both Alicante and Murcia airports, Cabo Roig is the archetypal Costa Blanca resort. It's a bustling coastal town with long white, sandy beaches, golf courses and a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. There is a large ex-pat community, made up mostly of Irish and British citizens, which means it doesn't shut down completely in winter as some resorts do.

Without a doubt, the best thing about Cabo Roig is its friendly atmosphere, and it's well worth a visit just for the welcome you'll get.

Situated between La Zenia and Campoamor, Cabo Roig is easily accessible from the N332 coastal road and the AP7 toll roads. It is only 20 minutes away from San Javier Airport in Murcia and 45 minutes away from Alicante International Airport. It's a great place for a holiday at any time of year, but the beach and bars and restaurants do get very busy in August.

Cabo Roig marinaThere are plenty of places to stay in Cabo Roig and wherever you are you won't be far from the beach, although some villas are located on the beach side of the coastal road, others are the opposite side so do check with the property owner if you are booking direct or with the Hotel.

Cabo Roig also has a small marina where there is a lovely restaurant serving excellent seafood and where you can try a variety of watersports.

For those wanting to eat out whilst on holiday, there is a wide range of cuisines available, including Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Indian, and of course English and Irish.

Things to do in Cabo Roig

Cabo Roig is famous for its beaches and bars, but it also has a Marina, some natural cliffs and a number of excellent golf courses nearby.

The two sandy white beaches of La Caleta and Cala Capitan have both been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety, and the climate is such that you can swim in the sea well into November.

The marina provides boat-mooring, sailing and windsurf classes, and is fun to explore too. There are also lots of waterside restaurants to relax in after a hard days sailing (or daydreaming!).

For golf enthusiasts, Las Ramblas and Campoamor golf courses are just 5 minutes away, and Villamartin golf course is a 10 minute drive, with a further 3 courses within a 20 minute drive.
