Description

My beautiful south facing Villa/Countryhouse has a superb quiet location with stunning mountain views, and an ambience of peace and tranquillity. If you want to live close to nature but with easy access to a nearby traditional Spanish village, this is the house for you. It is easily accessed via a driveway from a quiet country road, 3minutes drive to Tarbena.
It was built for me in 2010/11 to high modern specifications, including effective insulation. Although relatively new it has many traditional features and is set in a large forested garden. The village has an excellent shop, a friendly plaza, several bar restaurants, a large swimming pool (summer months), medical centre, pharmacist and Town Hall.
Sitting on the covered terrace at the front of the house is a truly wonderful and peaceful experience. You look over the garden to pine forest, agricultural land and mountains and there is one stone built traditional house across the valley. Three steps lead down from the terrace to an established pretty garden with many mature plants and a pond with a tinkling fountain, which in springtime is accompanied by the song of nightingales. It is pure magic. A covered pergola to the side of the house ensures shade is available at all times of the day. A level gravelled area provides ample parking space for several cars.
The main entrance to the house is by original old doors which were sourced from a former bar in a neighbouring village. Entry is directly into the open plan ground floor comprising a reception/dining room, a well equipped open-plan kitchen and a cozy lounge with a large woodburner and a ceiling fan. There is also a seperate utility room with exit to the side terrace, washing machine, fridge and a traditional Spanish porcelain laundry sink. Adjacent to this room is a cloakroom with wash basin and understairs cupboard.
Tiled stairs lead up to the first floor, which has a large master bedroom with balcony. Waking up each morning the view is of the sun rising on the distant mountians, including Aitana, the highest mountain in Valencia. There is a spacious family bathroom with bath, separate shower, wash basin, WC and bidet. The second bedroom is exceptionally large, currently incorporating my art studio and a second bedroom. This space could easily be converted into two good sized bedrooms. Both the master bedroom and the studio / second bedroom open on the the balcony at the front of the house, which is the perfect place to watch the sunset and look for shooting stars on the summer nights. There is also a window to back/ road side of the property.
There is a small garden shed to the side of the car parking space. Living here has been a paradise, but now I have to go back to Scotland. I will be very sad to leave.
