Hi - We're the Dunning family from Bend, Oregon. We're hoping...trying to get ourselves to Spain via the North America Teaching and Culture grant, offered through the Ministry of Education of Spain. In less than two weeks, we'll find out if we've been admitted into the program, and to what region. We picked Extremadura as our first choice, followed by Asturias. If we get accepted, we'd head over to Spain late summer.
At the moment, we are starting to pull some of our documents together. The Spanish Government now requires that all visa holders do the FBI background check, with the fingerprints. I've sent in 4 copies to the FBI, and all sets have been rejected, due t 'poor quality' prints.
I would love to chat with anyone who has had a similar experience, to find out what options may be out there. We've been in communication with the Consulate of Spain, but they say it's the FBI's choice and of course the FBI says that each government can come up with an alternative plan.
I'll stop there and write more about who we are a bit later.
