Where to buy books in Spain
10 August 2009 @ 21:13

There are some English language book shops in Spain, especially on the costas and the big cities.  However, I find the range usually poor and the prices expensive.  I recently discovered that amazon.co.uk will deliver to Spain and their delivery charges are very reasonable.  All you do is add your Spanish address, which can then be used as your dispatch address.  It's as simple as that.

For the first book the delivery charge is £4.98 and then any subsequent book is charged at £0.99.  Obviously, if you order just one book, it's not so cheap, but if you are ordering a few, then it becomes cheaper.  Last time, I stocked up and ordered 5 books!

The delivery times can be a bit slow, so it's not recommended if you are in a hurry to receive your book(s).  Last time, it took me a couple of weeks to receive my order.

I've been using Amazon & Play.com for over a year now and normally the orders arrives within about a week. Normally a few of us get together to make an order and share the delivery. I also find buying from Ebay quite good.
