Jenson Button and Brawn GP on pole in Australia

What an exciting qualifying session in Australia for tomorrow's formula 1 race. Really happy for Jenson Button on his pole position and Rubens Barrichelo in second. What an amazing result for the new team Brawn GP.

Let's see if Jenson can pull it off.

Seems Alonso wasn't very competitive and neither was Hamilton...interesting race ahead.

Looking forward to Australia Formula 1 action

It's been painful waiting for the Formula 1 season to come round again but it's finally here.

It looks like Hamilton has been struggling a little in the practice sessions so let's hope they can sort something out for qualifying tomorrow.  I'll be up at 6am to watch it.

It will be interesting to see how Alonso gets on this season too.  He's not really my favourite driver at all but you can't deny the guy's super talented.

Some of us will be going to the Eye on Spain office on Sunday morning to watch the race which should be good.  Another early start but Selwyn says he's going to cook us all a fry up...although I don't think he realises how many of us will actually be there.

Anyway, best get to bed, will be up in a bit to watch the qualifying.

Now, I'm just testing something so please ignore the following....

If you are travelling to Cyprus on holiday then check out the best rates for Larnaca airport car hire from CarTrawler.  They search many rental firms and they return the most competitive rate for you.

Just back from the Barcelona Grand Prix

I got back yesterday from Barcelona after going with Diego to watch the Barcelona F1 Grand Prix. We were really lucky actually as we didn't pay for the tickets....Diego won them! 500 Euros worth of tickets, pretty cool hey?

So we did a "planes, trains and automobiles" routine and drove up to Granada in the morning, got a flight to Barcelona (changing in Palma de Mallorca), taxi to hotel, then the train into Barcelona city centre for some tapas and drinks.

To be honest we were shattered by the time we got to Barcelona so headed back the hotel early to make sure we got up extra early to get to the circuit. They were expecting 130,000 people to attend so we thought it might get a little busy....actually it was A LOT busy.

Anyway, up at 6:30 on the Sunday and got the train to the circuit, which was already packed. Sat in the heat getting burnt but what a great atmosphere. Fantastic experience.

We had to get the flight back that same evening so our challenge was to exit the circuit as quickly as possible. We were a little lucky that Alonso broke down half way through the race and quite a few upset fans left the circuit early.

Here's me (I'm the one with the fat face in the Ferrari gear!!) enjoying the race:

We rushed out at the end and managed to get the train and the flight back on time.

A hugely tiring weekend but well worth it. I think next time we'll go for a bit longer though!

Wind in my hair

We've had relentless wind for what seems like an eternity now. It's just been non-stop for days and it's quite fierce too. I think the whole coast has been suffering with it, it must be what it's like to live in Tarifa all the time. No thanks!

I went up to Jerez on Tuesday to watch the formula 1 testing and it was gloriously sunny there and even managed to burn my head....serves me right for not having any hair!

Nice to see there weren't any racist idiots there whilst Lewis Hamilton was on track. There's just no need for it really.

I'll try to post some pics and videos of the visit later if I'm not expected to do too much this Valentine's evening!
