A fully equipped, double bedroom and twin bedroom, 2 bathroom, self catering apartment for rent, situated in Formentera del segura, South Costa Blanca. The apartment was completed late 2007 and everything is new & modern.

There is a communal pool, private underground parking, a private terrace and a communal roof terrace with beautiful views of the nearby mountains.

The apartment is located on a residential complex that includes a play area for children and a well stocked grocery store. There are also three vibrant and friendly bars less than 3 minute walks away and food is sold in each one. The bars have internet access & also free wifi, for those who like/need to have this facility. Internet access is occasionally available in the apartment, but purchasing a dongle ensures wifi at all times!

The apartment is located on a residential complex adjacent to Formentera village. Formentera del Segura has a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops and a pleasant village square (plaza) where the town hall looks over the picturesque square and traditional fountain. There is also a kiosk bar and this is the centre of festivals and events. The village has a good size municipal swimming pool with a cafeteria, lawn area and picnic area. This area is ideal for golfers as there are several nearby.

Close by is the neighbouring municipal town of Rojales. It has a charming village feel to it. It sits on the banks of the River Segura and makes up a stop on the Rio Segura walking and cycling route. It is easy to wander around Rojales as you always come back to the river, with its large waterwheel and friendly ducks! The Thursday morning market is very popular with both residents and visitors and is well renowned for being slightly cheaper!

Formentera del Segura is a small village close to Benijofar and Rojales in the Vega Baja (low fertile valley) region of the southern Costa Blanca, Spain, in the Alicante province. The village sits on the banks of the River Segura.

The nearest beach is at Guardamar, which is located next to the mouth of the River Segura. The town of Guardamar overlooks a long beach bordered by a large expanse of sand dunes covered with pines and eucalyptus. The setting is one of the most unique scenes in the Land of Valencia, with a combination of extensive coastal dunes protected by a verdant forest, fertile fields, orchards and the awesome and inspiring expanse of the Mediterranean Sea. There are actually eight beaches in Guardamar, and they stretch for over eight miles (14 kilometers) to provide sand and sun for everyone who visits. The different beaches offer a variety of settings.

Located just to the south is Torrevieja with its beautiful beaches. It also has a water park which is one of the biggest water parks on the Costa Blanca, and is very popular with people of all ages.

Situated closer to Formentera is another water park, the Rojales Water Park. It is located on top of the Quesada hills overlooking Formentera. It provides great days out for families during the summer and is most suited to children aged 6-13yrs. It has 4 gentle slides and 2 kamikaze slides, 3 children’s pools, a large swimming pool with free sun beds and parasols, restaurant, cafeteria, lawn area, picnic area (you can bring your own sandwiches!) and lots of free parking.

The Formentera del Segura area:

Formentera del Segura is surrounded by Rojales, Heredades, Urbanisation Benimar and Benijofar in the Vega Baja Valley on the southern Costa Blanca. Agriculture plays a big part in the village as it sits by the River Segura. The main products are oranges, lemons, vegetables and honey.

Formentera del Segura has its share of fiestas and celebrations all year round; however there is one unique to Formentera - “The Day of the Bicycle”, in which many of the villagers take part in a race to celebrate the past and present “brotherhood of the people of the village”. The Day of the Bicycle takes place in May. In Formentera del Segura May is known as “The Month of Flowers” and there are many celebrations including a grand procession in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.
