Description

A typical Spanish Andalucian self catering country cottage in the private grounds of Aldea de la higuera ( village of the fig tree). Nestled amidst terraces of fruit trees sitting on the edge of an ancient threshing circle with views of the mountains rising to 4000ft and overlooking the Almachal river and its valley. Abundant with wildlife, these hidden evergreen valleys will reveal numerous surprises as you wander along the multitude of woodland paths and tracks in this microclimate of the Serrania de Ronda.

Aldea de la higuera is located in the heart of the Andalucian coastal mountains, near the village of Genalguacil. You have a real feeling for the Spanish countryside , giving you an insight into Spanish country living.
Private footpaths meander throughout, revealing dramatic views of mountains and green valleys, tranquil groves of willow and mint.
The river banks are alive with birds and animals, with clear pools to cool and refresh.

The Aldea de la Higuera is a group of cottages, the remains of a moorish settlement, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the river Almachal. Deep in the cork oak forests surrounded by terraced gardens and secluded orchards.
The grounds extend to some 40 acres of productive cork oak and 2 kilometers of river.

Just 45 minutes from Estepona on the Costa del Sol close to the African coast travel through breath taking mountain scenery, and only 10 minutes from the beautiful mountain village of Genalguacil with its streets adorned with art and sculptures.
In the village there is a supermarket, bars and restaurants if you feel like eating out.
