I am on La Recoleta in Punta Prima and the cats are doing what they do best, reproducing!  We have had the mother neutered and will hopefully have her kittens (4) done as soon as old enough but unfortunately the  vet thinks the mum may have ringworm which is contagious and dangerous to humans and other pets and altho can be treated, how do you give a stray tablets every day for a month.  Do we have the cats professionally removed and hopefully rehoused?  Do we treat the sick cat?  Any suggestions?  This is all costing money.  I know if they go, more will come but if they weren't fed they would keep vermin down.  We had another mum + 3 but they seem to have disappeared.

Anyone having problems with cats on the complex, if so what are you doing about it and who is paying for the upkeep and vet bills?

I live here 7 months a year and go home to UK November to end March basically when the clocks change as I find the long evenings/nights too long.  I have £350 a month sent out from UK and find that adequate to live on.  I don't pay rent but I do run a large car (Ford Focus 1.9)  I live alone and have TV, telephone and internet at €50+/month.  I usually go home once during those 7 months but find my Euros build up once I'm in the UK but obviously have to pay community fees (nearly €100/month) electricity and water whilst I'm gone.  I usually bring €500 with me when I return just incase I have any emergencies so if I upped my monthly payment to £500 I would have more than enough so €1000 would be ample for 2 people I would think.

PS I do not live in a cheap part of Spain but right on the coast with a beatiful sea view

I am fortunate as I do the 6 month in each country.  Usually Spain, late March to early November (with August in UK) and winter months in UK although this year decided to stay in August but wouldn't do it again, too hot, too noisy.  I still have my home (paid for) in UK and a home here (also fully paid for).  I live alone with only a UK state pension but I manage but to answer the original question the answer would probably be No as I find it too cold in winter and the heating bills are cheaper in UK

can't really suggest where to go but definititely not the Costa Blanca.  I live just  south of Torrevieja with a mixture of Spanish & Brits and normally come after the clocks change in March and return within a couple of weeks after they change in October - it's so cold after that, particularly January & February.  If I have to stay indoors with the heating on might as well do it in UK
