 Hi

We have parked in LLoret de Mar many timesovernight  in one of the free car parks.  It is not secure in the traditional sense but we have never had a problem.  The Car park is located on the road leading to the new casino past the casino royal hotel.  You need to go down a side street to get to it.  Alternatively there is an underground car park underneath the bus station but i have no idea if it is secured or how much it costs.

Hope this helps a little.

Thread: Driving a Spanish Registered car in the UK

I am resient in Spain and own a Spanish registered vehicle.

I am planning to visit the UK and understand that this is OK.

My worry is that my driving licence is still registered at my old Uk address.

After just about managing all the other relevent paperwork required to become resident i have not got round to changing to Spanish and to be honest was not going to do so yet anyway.

I wonder how the UK police would view this.

I have lived in Spain (Catalunya) for just over one year after owning property here for four years previous.

My husband is an early retiree.

I love the area and my house.

The people in the villiage have been very friendly and welcoming.

I speak a little spanish and some people speak a little English.

I have had spanish people help me with telephone calls and and also with dealing with the ajuntament.

When i was burgled whilst i was in England a neighbour reported and the police came straight away and took photos and finger prints.  They appared to take it seriously even though there is no expectation of getting my goods back. In England I was mugged and had to give a report over the phone and an officer visited me three days later.

The weather is definately bonus (most of the time) but it is not the only reason to live here.

I am aware i am lucky to have bought my house with profits from another house sale and do not worry about the diving value as i do not plan to sell yet.  I may worry about that one later.

Again i have current medical cover from the uk and by time it runs out there is only a short time before my husband becomes a uk pensioner so therefore will have medical cover as his dependent.

I guess in conclusion it is great to live in Spain as people with our own income and no need for employment or financial assisance

I live on the campo between the moras and garcia.

My husband has retired so we live on his pension with the olives as an extra.

We dont have many trees so it more for an interest than to make money.

It is as small world if you live near Newark too.  We were only there three years waiting for retirement.

I am struggling with catalan so decided to stick with castilian for now.
