03 May 2010:

Hello

This beach is a favourite of ours, we go regularly whenever we are over in Spain. Summer and Winter! When the weather is not so good it is great for a long quiet walk and good to blow away the cobwebs!

We were there just after Easter 2010 and saw that fencing was being erected all along the track down to the beach and the area that is generally used to park (on the left, a few hundred yards to walk) has been fenced off and trees planted there. The parking area right on the entrance to the beach has been reduced in size and we were wondering what chaos would ensue this summer? It was always a bit tight at times and this will make it very much worse. I am all for conservation but there seems to be no alternative provided for parking. I wish we didn't need to take a car but we are 40 mins drive inland so we have no choice. This will have a huge knock on effect for the people with properties at the start of this track (Buena Vista, I believe?). Does anyone know of another parking area nearby?

The beach itself is also being fenced along the back with a second reed fence behind it. Access on foot over the dunes will not be posssible.

Does anyone have any information about this please?

Thank you

Mooma

Hi! I would be interested in your opinions. I was recently talking to a friend who said she would never swim in the Mar Menor as the sea did not move and change enough. This had never crossed my mind. What do other people think?

Hi I have just posted this infor on the other 'cheap flights' thread and feel it is important information and so I'm repeating it here. The following was cut and pasted directly from the Ryanair website: -

Terms and Conditions of Travel

ReservationsAll bookings for Ryanair flights must be made directly on www.ryanair.com or via a Ryanair call centre. Any booking you may make via a third party website or online travel agent may be cancelled without notice or refund.

So be aware of this when using these screen scraper sites.

Hi
I could be completely wrong here but I seem to remember that there is some sort of dispute between Ryanair and screen scraper websites. There is a comment about it on the Ryanair home page (via a link you click on - almost centre page) and I think I remember that when flights have been cancelled, those booked via sites other that Ryanair itself were either not getting refunds or having to fight for them.
