Hi Simon

Just make sure you take copies of your identification, your NIE, your Escritura (title deeds) and if you don't speak Spanish or have a translator with you then take some already translated phrases about what you are trying to acheive!

The local Marbella Endesa office although a bit scruffy is fine. The lady I saw was helpful but didn't really speak any English. I was fortunate when I called mid-morning & got served within a few minutes.

Good luck

Pete

Hi All

Thanks everyone for all the replies.

In short - Endesa don't seem to be able to reply in English to their phone call centre & even if they could they need my customer number that I never had.

I was in Costa del Sol last week so took a different approach to solving this nuisance problem.

They do have a little office at number 5, Calle Serenata, Marbella which my sat-nav / gps guided me to.

With my NIE, Passport and printouts of direct debit charges to my bank account and my Spain apartment address together with some carefully chosen phrases translated with Google language option they were able to find my account and print out quite a lot of statements going back about 1 year.

They also took my UK address to send future statements to - we will have to see if that actually happens!

The visit to their office took about 15 minutes and although the person I saw only understood a little English we managed between us with my page of translations to work everything out.

I hope that helps

Pete

Thanks for those replies.

Looks like I will be calling into the Endesa Marbella office when I visit Spain in mid February. I don't speak or understand very much Spanish language.

Has anyone had experience of needing a translator person or is English likely to be understood?

I'm advised that they have a ticketing system like at a deli and waiting times of a couple of hours are typical! Again - does anyone have experience of this?

Thanks

Pete

22 January 2010:

Hi

For the past 2+ years I have been trying on and off to contact Endesa by phone or email.

When I try to phone them I get very long time on hold events before they speak and never get an English speaker then get disconnected.

Their email system seems to be broken and usually returns an 'undeliverable'  or 'mailbox full' message.

I can't find a postal address for Endesa Sevillana - not sure if it would get a response anyway!

Another thread mentioned contacting the ombudsman service but you have to already have made a complaint first to Endesa and need a complaint number! That'll be the first problem with the phone service again! Catch 22!

The reason I have been trying to get hold of Endesa is because I never get any bills sent to me - I just get large direct debits from my account. Unfortunately my lawyer who set up the account doesn't have a contract number which just makes things more difficult.

I understand that Endesa have offices in some towns - Marbella would be nearest to my property - has anyone tried a local office to resolve this sort of problem?

Any suggestions on how to move matters forward?

Thanks

Pete

Monday, November 24, 2008:

Dear All

We live in the UK and have an apartment in Mijas Costa area.

Our solicitor did all the transcations when we bought the property at the end of November 2007.

Our solicitor has now recommended a gestor who wants to charge what we think is quite a lot for the service to present the Wealth tax dues for 2007.

The gestor want to charge 50 Euros each to register myself and my wife at the Hacienda, so that will be 100 Euros

then another charge of 300 Euros to present the Wealth Tax paperwork to the Hacienda both those figures plus IVA of course.

Then of course the actual Wealth tax payment of a little over 321 Euro which I don't suppose is negotiable!

So that will be 400 Euros plus IVA charge to make the payment of 321 Euros to the Hacienda.

Does that seem like a fair charge?

If you think we're being ripped off and can suggest a fairer gestoria then please let us know.

Thanks

Pete
