Buenos
dias
Yes, here is something positive and I'm not making it up. At the gym yesterday morning (yes, I do make it there now and then) I was chatting to a friend of mine who is an estate agent who covers the Manilva/ Sabinillas / Duquesa area where we are.
I asked "how's business" expecting him to start crying...but it was quite the contrary. "We've sold more properties this year than in the same period in previous years". They have been in business for over 4 years. I was shocked.
Spanish buyers? No. Investors? No. British? Yes. But there is a catch...
All the properties he's sold this year have been under the 180,000 Euros mark and have been discounted by 30 - 40%!
OK, so those are big discounts but it clearly shows that there is still a demand...as long as the price is right. He is one happy estate agent who is certainly bucking the trend! Maybe we'll get him on the Siesta Show for a chat soon.
Following on from that, the first article today was written by yours truly and it's supposed to be a message to the Spanish PM, Mr Zapatero. I look at some of the initiatives he should put in place to stimulate the property market here. I don't suppose my estate agent friend will bother reading it though ;)
Anyway, hope you enjoy today's articles.
