Are we about to see the possibility of a "new Spain" now that Zapatero has this week officially confirmed 20 November for the next General Election?

Most opinion polls are suggesting that Mariano Rajoy of the PP party will be the next Prime Minister, but what will this mean for the country?

I don't think whatever the outcome is that there is going to be a quick fix, but I'm personally behind the majority of Spaniards thinking that a change of party in power may at least be a good start.

Let's see what messages come out over the next few weeks as all the parties start their campaigns. Interesting times.

Anyway, enjoy this week's articles and remember to keep sending us your stories to publish too. Tell us about where you live or plan to live, etc. We and all our readers want to hear from you.

Have a great week.

Un saludo

As you will see, it shows comparative prices of some major items between 1981 and now (2011) based upon the Spanish Consumer Price Index.
