Can anyone please advise the best way to buy a 2nd hand car in the Murcia/Alicante area?

Thanks

By far the best way as long as you have someone who knows about cars is to look out for cars around and about with for sale on them you will save a fortune compared to the car dealers when agreeing a price remember it will be about 300 euros to change all docs into your name. When I bought mine we went 50/50 with the costs. We are in Playa Flamenca area there are loads of cars for sale around us .

You'll see loads of cars with 'for sale' signs (Se Vende) parked day in, day out in car parks. It certainly costs around 300€ for the transfer into your name, as JPD says, as our friends have just done it.

JPD, You must let me know what you see around. I'll be out in Playa Flamenca from 19/09/09. When I was there in July I only saw a couple and they seemed expensive. I didn't hire a car because it was so expensive and it was too difficult to get around on foot becaause of the heat plus chasing the builders. lol! Thanks Kevin

Thanks Team GB

That's my mission for the day.........web surfing!

Just can't keep paying the ridiculous hire car charges, our bill for 2010 is just over 1,500 Euros!!

So, if we can find our own car, we will make up the hire charges in a couple of years..............hopefully!

Business is what all about here. But first and foremost you need to think of yourself as a business. Car sales for example selling recovery van people work for an auto dealership, but most work on a salary and commission basis. When your compensation is commission based, this means you have more control of your destiny and should view yourself as a business instead of just a sales person.
