I moved from Mapre for a cheaper premium and higher cover, to Saltsbay.
Don't be put off if your current insurer saying "you can't swop till next year".
Mine told me that at the renewal, as they say I did not give them 30 days written notice.
I just told them to "send the police and put me in jail"!
I heard nothing more from them!
But make sure you cancel any direct debits in favour of your old insurer, else they will take the next premium anyway.
