I just came across a new article on the Spanish tax office website, which confirms that the modelo 210 deadline for payment is December.   The same document confirms that wealth tax has been abolished and makes further comments on taxes for 2009, so it is up to date.

Same page as I have been looking at.

I agree with you, submission can be made throughout the following year.

Previous dates of end of June, are for electronic submission for representatives with a users certificate i.e. a lawyer or fiscal

The relevant part of that webpage, translated:

Term of declaration: Throughout the natural year following to the date of accrued income

The instruction page for completion of  the modelo 210 on the website now also states that deadline for submission is December for 2008 returns (which is the one payable this year).

Yes, I have seen that too.

What I find annoying is that the 210 form is a downloadable PDF

Previously, it was the blue form, filled in online and then the calculations got checked automatically.

The way they are doing it now, gives too much room for error.

For instance, when you input in the base imbonible in no 4 box (for simplified return), you then have to input the 24% rate at  Tipo de gravamen, no 14 box

Then calculate the % manually and input your answer into Cucta diferencial No 21 box

The old sytem did not allow for errors and wouldn't let you proceed to the completed 214 form until the errors were rectified.

So I am not happy with this new system!!

You can pay this tax yourself, loads of people do.
I sell a Guide, step by step instructions.
Including how to obtain the stickers (Pagatinas)
So simple!
One off fee for the Guide, nothing further to pay year on year.
