Iceland has anounced a new store opening near La Marina on Friday 9th Feb.

The store is on the industrial estate behind the Mercadona on the N332.

Iceland appears to be the cheapest store on the Costa Blanca to get UK style goods from Waitrose and Iceland if you need them.

mr kevin, your dog is just gorgeous.....I'm assuming it is your dog!  I wrote to Iceland last year after I read they stocked proper fresh English milk, begging them to open a store in or around Peniscola, but they never replied. I live in hope, as you do in Spain.......

Regards, Poppyseed

Hi More, thanks for that. Several hours drive away but I didn't realise there were some even as close as that. Next time we go for a decent length of time it may be worth the trip. Thanks again.

Regards, Poppyseed.

Hi Poppyseed,

Yes Tera is my dog, she is a Weimaranar, now 18 month and old unlike me, she is very intelligent.

Thanks a lot.

Kevin

I'm not sure if it is widespread, but some of the Brit shops import from Iceland themselves. There is a shop along Mojacar Playa called Mr UK and all it stocks is Iceland food. May be worht a look in the "local" area?

The new Iceland store at La Marina is a 10 minute drive from us & the one in Torrevieja is a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction. Needless to say we had a few things from Iceland during our Christmas / New Year trip.

Ironically we returned after Christmas to find our own local Iceland has packed up & shipped out. When I emailed Iceland (as I have a £20 voucher & nearest one is over 13 miles away now ) they said 'we are looking at new sites in your area'.

Iceland have bought some of the Woolworth sites.

There was a list of which ones they were taking over on the BBC news page some weeks ago.

Try a search for that news page, maybe one will be local to you.

*Edited cos' I can't spell!*
