We have these fitted on our apartment, there have been breakins within our community but we havent been touched, we think that with grilles, alarms and grille alarms such as these we are as safe as we can be for the time being, on the down side, they go off for approx 40 seconds, we have been in touch with the person that fitted them as he told us they would go off for about 60 to 90 seconds, but of course we cant get any joy from him now, we think that there are others on the market now too, so look around and make sure you get some body who is reliable to fit them for you, we looked everywhere and we couldnt find them in any shops or on any web sites so you have to get them from the supply company.

Hello Impey,

Attico is what would translate in English as "the loft"!

Actually, in Spain, this is what they call the top floor apartments of blocks.

Living in an Attico, sounds much posher than living in the loft though don't it!!!

Rgds,

Fibby, JeanSis and Gillespie,

Thank you for the info.  Did not realise that I live in a London "attico"!!! - sounds so much more posher than top floor flat.

Gillespie,

Know what you mean about pigeons, I have a ledge outside my "attico" which they love to mess on, tried several methods to dissuade them but to no avail.  Have to resort to a water pistol now except most times they see me coming and fly away only to come back moments later.

Hi Impey,

See how posh you are now!

Actually "Attico" also translates as Attic, which sounds posher than a loft!

But you stick to your "Attico" in London, sounds like a bird puller to me......................sorry, couldn't resist that!

As for those dirty pigeons, have you seen the stuff people stick on their outside ledges?

Looks like a strip of plastic with lots of upward facing plastic spikes. It stops them from landing.

Of course if you really mean business, you could put a strip of land mines along the ledge..................

Bit difficult for anyone to reply if we don't know where you are.  CB? CDS? CC? CA?  Madrid?
