11 Feb 2007 11:43 PM jillb Apartamento I'm in bury st edmunds/Lomas de cabo roig I've made 51 posts Send private message to jillb	Sorry Laury, I will start again, pressed wrong button!! with regard to the seed couldnt grow, it definitely wasnt a climber, still think it was a datura of some sort, however no worries, your garden is absolutely gorgeous where are the greenhouses or dont you need them in devon? we have three but all empty this year as trying to sell our house here in suffolk as they are usually full of cuttings and seed, Be great to get some tips from you (if willing) especially where palm growing is concerned, Regards Jill P.s. We grow nothing in Spain yet because the purchase was only completed a couple of weeks ago and there are months of licences, knocking downs and rebuilds before we can live there and plant things. We have a greenhouse at one side of the house and a conservatory which is warmer. Some plants are brought in for winter, some are in the greenhouse and some are covered with fleece outside. Cordylines although i have been quite lucky with them but is there any way, or what am i doing wrong, to prevent the leaves going yellow at bottom, i usually just pull them off but with some i have had to pull so many of they look unsightly so end up diggin up and throwing away, is is too much water??( This is like gardeners questions time! I've made 490 posts Send private message to Lauryc	Cordyline 's lower leaves always turn yellow and then brown before making a dead skirt around the trunk. Just pull them off if they are unsightly. The tree has to lose the leaves to develop the tree-like trunk. I live in the land of Cordylines as their common name here is Torbay palm.
