UK passport renewal in Spain.

Hi Guys,
I have just renewed my youngest daughters passport through the Cosulate in Madrid.
I am happy to say that the whole process took 10 working days from application to getting it back yesterday.
The consulate even called me last week to apologise for the delay caused by the Transport strike...
What i thought would be really tedious proved to be very easy and stress free.

Bloody expensive though!

I think it was 112€,i say think because my OH sorted it all.
How much is it in the UK now?
I know the Sapnish renewal is under 20€
Thats why when i get to 10 years as a resident i am going for their one.
The new ones are a little different now and have a microchip in them.

I renewed mine in 2006 and it was around 80 euros.  A colleague renewed his last year and it was nearer 100 euros.  Not sure how much they are in the UK but they're cheaper.  Still bloody expensive though!!! (like everything else)

I've seen one of the new Spanish ones, with a huge picture and a microchip.....
