Hi All

My name is Wende and I have just joined the site. I have an apartment in El Paraiso,Torrevieja and wondered whether anyone can give me an update on the proposed plans to build a promenade along the beach area behind the Dialprix supermercado. Has anyone seen the plans?  (or are plans too much to ask for???)

I know that the bars and restaurants next to the sea have been told their outside terraces will have to go and last month I saw the police (?!) measuring the terraces.  I don't understand why the terraces cannot be reinstated on the new promenade.

On a positive note, I am hoping that a new promenade along that stretch (and not sure how long it will be) will bring about improvements to the general area.  If anyone has any info I would be very grateful.

There are lots of our members in your area, Wende, both as residents & non residents. Karensun on here, for instance, could well know what's happening. I, like you, have heard the bars have to remove their outside tables (I read it in a forum somewhere some time ago) but I can't believe that these won't be permitted to some extent, once the new promenade has been built. That is all part of Spanish culture isn't it , eating al fresco ?

We have a beautiful promenade at Guardamar with cafes/restaurants spilling out all over the promenade. They move tables to the beach edge after the sun has gone behind the buildings when they would be in the shade if left in original positions too. Who cares ?

If you're in Torrevieja why not go to the town hall to see the plans ?

Enjoy our forum.

Thanks Morerosado

If the new promenade in Torre looks as good as the one in Guardamar I will be very happy.  I will go to the town hall next time I am there and see the plans.  Do you know if they are on display or whether I will need to ask for them?

Wende

The reason the bars behind Dial a Prix had to move their terraces was because the had no license and no music licenses either and there had been lots of complaints about the noise during siesta times.

I saw the plans in the town hall ages ago and as far as I know there has been no change to the plans. we went upstairs to the last office on the left at the top of the stairs and they found the plans for us and photocopied them...........very helpful ( but that was then!!)
