being a community of 100 units with a pool of 260 sq m, we need to employ a lifeguard to confirm with spanish law and should have the pool area closed when he is not there. obviously this is very expensive. and unrealistic. the long term solution is to reduce the size of the pool which is also costly.most people like the big pool and i was wondering if there is an alternative solution.

I don't think so, but this is really one for the lawyers. Can you tell us where your community is, as I believe there are different regulations for each autonomous region? I have the rules for Andalucia handy, but..............
