I've heard lots mentioned recently about an agreement between the UK and Spanish governments over the use of Gibraltar airport. It seems they're going to allow flights out of Gib to Spain and other destinations. Is that right?
What gets me is that if any more flights use Gib airport then there's no way cars are ever going to cross it to get from Spain to Gib, it'll just be way too busy. I assume they will have to route the traffic somewhere else.

Agreement signed between Gib and Spain to have joint administration of the airport. There will be flights from Gib to Madrid I believe and ultimately other Spanish airports. I believe this is the first step to Gib being returned to the Spanish. The Uk certainly doesnt want it any more as there is no strategic value and for the Spanish I think it is a matter of pride that it is returned. There are not that many flights in and out of Gib now anyway and it is not really the runway closure that delays traffic. It is more the border and customs control. _______________________
