hi all

I would like your thoughts on this one please.  My bank account has just been debited a sum of 90euros by the ayuntimiento in la Cala, when I challenged my bank they couldn't tell me why.

they said perhaps its for some outstanding monies, 'no it isn't' i said.  I then said that I have not authorised any debits so please do not allow this to happen in the future.

Bank siad, 'sorry they are the government and can access anyones bank!!!!!.  Also the bank told me that they do not have an invoice for the sum only a reference number and that I will need to contact the ayuntimiento to sort it.

My spanish neighbour said it might be a traffic offence, but I have not received any tickets and also I have had no queries from car hire companies.

Any thoughts

Timba

Hi All

Well after 42 views I will put it another way then, does anyone have a view on unauthorised withdrawals from a bank account by the ayuntimiento, as that is what I was referring to in my last post.

I think everyone has the same view, it's unacceptable but that hardly stops them, Timba.

Hi Timba

Be prepared for a long wait!!

18 months ago my account was debited with an amount in excess of 1500 euros by Marbella Ayuntimiento - l took the slip from the bank to the ayuntimiento who then furnished me with a breakdown of the charges. They were for outstanding IBI and Basura for two apartments - one at Cabopino and one in Estepona. No suprise when l say l dont and never have owned these properties.

The debit was in the name of John Taylor - the same name as my husband who had sadly passed away just 5 weeks before the debit. So l was not a happy bunny at all.

Furthermore - no mail was received until - about a month after the debit to the bank  when a slip was posted to me at the address registered at the Mijas Ayuntimiento for voting purposes.

To cut a long story short my lawyer lodged a claim for repayment - BUT the town hall are allowed 12 months to repay and sufice to say l still have not received a cent back despite the lawyers making further applications.

As l said at the start be prepared for a long wait!!
