You do need to bear in mind that if you take out a remortgage & have no mortgage in Spain that your wealth tax will be increased.
If you have a mortgage in Spain, you only pay wealth tax on the value of your home less the mortgage.
If you have no mortgage in Spain then you pay wealth tax on the whole value.
