hello all,

i purchased an appartment in 2002 with a completion date of april 2004.  You have probabley guesed but we have still not completed. Mainly due to the poor finish of the complex and snagging items not done (list made april 2007). i have asked them to complete or return money. they have agreed to return money. in the current climate, why would they want to do this?

regards

Hi again, you misunderstood me. What I intended was it's good (isn't it ?) that you have been offered your money back, some have to fight in court as they are not so fortunate. I'm sorry you have obviously had a very bad time. I'm on your side. Remove "easily" & insert "readily" (maybe, maybe not) or shall I get back in this deep hole I'm digging ? Long day.

hello,

no problem. i just wonder why when they are so close they would rather return money than complete the appartment. that is what i wanted to hear.

regards

Hi clydec, I don't understand either.  What do you want ? Perhaps they have others interested in the apartment(s) at a higher price so offering you your money back allows them to resell it at a higher price. I guess only they know & will they tell you ? Very odd though, as you say. Good luck in what you decide & do let us know.

Hello Eros - I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you or point you in the right direction if you can post further details of what's concerning you.

Can you expand on your original post, exactly where the property is and what's bovering you.

Don't be afraid of posting, the more information you can give, the easier it will be to get the information you need.

eros

Do yourself a big favour and negotiate 50% off the price or walk away. You will need this discount next year as this is all it will be worth.

When I get to 100 does that mean I'm no longer an apartment?

If so thats a relief as they are really in over supply, I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop - what say - 50% from here.

Oopps gone and done it again - I just can't seem to help myself.

Eros-if you try and negotiate 50% off the price and walk away you could be walking for a long time, the builders are doing deals as are private vendors so think what the property is worth to you and start to haggle.............................

What's the difference between a roaring estate agents feet & a roaring mortgage lender's feet ? Depends who's at the end of them, I guess.
