Having just completed on an apartment I am trying to work out the time sequence that is normally followed regarding the payment of the outstanding charges ie, the purchase costs including the solicitors costs and the mortgage costs. Is this all done within a matter of days after completion or over a longer period. I originally estimated the costs and had transfered monies into the solicitors 'clients account' and having received a bank statment a week after completion note that all of the costs haven't yet been debited from the account but are at this time unsure which ones. Does anyone know which?

We completed in October & most charges were taken on the day of completion & the remainder within a day or two. The last thing to be taken was the Banks mortgage set up fee, which took about a week.

The charges had been slightly overestimated (about 350 euros).

I agree with Noreen, although we don't have a mortgage, so don't know about that.

The last thing we paid after a few weeks was taxes to register the escritura etc.,.

These amounted to less than 10€

Of course the IBI bill, electricity & water will follow, but nothing to do with completion.

Hope this helps...............

Hi Noreen and Fibby

Thanks for info, the bank set up has been taken so I think I will just have to wait and see it sounds like the escritura etc could be the ones.
