Rights when left with Furniture Pack on Non Completion
| The Comments |
Hi all
I posted this in another forum but perhaps this one would have been a better choice.
I am pulling out of a purchase which was due for completion late 2007. I am hoping at least to get my deposit back with interest.
Unfortunately I bought a furniture pack off the same agent who sold the apartment 12 months ago. I am now being told that I cannot get my money back.
Has anybody any advice or info regarding my rights bearing in mind :
- I was not advised initially that I would not be entitled to a refund
- I was advised to buy the pack soon even though 12 months later I don't yet have a definite completion date
- I have not taken delivery and I don't believe the agent has the furniture pack
Thanks

I really don't know how people get away with this sort of behaviour. It's dispicable and is what gives this industry such a bad name.
As advice to anyone reading this, there is NO NEED to pay for a furniture pack 12 months in advance. You should only pay for it once you now your EXACT completion date which normally you only get 2 weeks notice for. You can give a deposit up front if there is a long lead time item but otherwise no need.
Madgolfer80, of course you are entitled to your money back...the problem is I bet they've spent it.
Expose them or talk to Maria, just don't let them get away with it.
Justin
