Photobucket are now calling their URL code a "direct link", the top one. I use that & it works. Don't know what to suggest. Member "Markfish" was good at giving handy tips to some in previous bucket thread so maybe he can help.

I have never had a photobucket account until today!! Curiosity has taken contol of me for the time being.

To add a picture from photobucket into your post, you need to click on the picture of the landscape (circled in red) which produces the following page:

You then need to find the image you want in photobucket, put a tick in the box alongside it, then click on the "Generate HTML and IMG code" button which will show the following:

Use the URL generated at the bottom for Messenger and paste in, then click OK. The image should then be previewed in the message before you send it. If the image doesn't show, you have the wrong address for the picture.

Not quite sure how the format of this will work out. To embed a video, you need to use the embed box below where you would enter your text.

You generate the code for a video in much the same way as for an image.

From what I can see, there is too much code generated and it looks like this when raw:

I don't do it like you, posting a pic I mean.

In my photobucket are three codes & the top code says "direct link".  Click on that & it auto copies it (word "copied" in yellow box edged in black will show below it too) so just paste that into where you said, the yellow scene.

Video worked fine BTW.

URGENT INFORMATION.

Please bucketeers, do ensure your photobucket settings are "private" as they're  set to "public" unless you change them.

Go to the top of bucket page & click on "account  options" & check that ,under the "album settings" partway down the page, it says "private".,

If it says "public" click on "edit my album settings" &  it will let you change it to "private". DON'T FORGET TO "SAVE" IT !!!

Cor b+gger, much easier to host it all on your own isp's web server than to mess about with this. I think what you will have to do with videos is to create a directory of it's own and place it in, that way, when the share button is pressed and the link collected, it will only show that video in that folder. If you really wanted to, you could take out the folder name which will give you the root of the Pb account and I suppose you could get the file names then?

At the end of the day, it is not an issue for me (although I have added folders, etc just to try it out) as I only opened the account to get an idea what I was talking about.

Just tried something More, and I can access all of your pictures, currently 535!!! You have been busy .

i think I might go back to hosting them on my own website then.

I have password protection on some of it and the rest is fully available.

It could be a better way for keeping personal stuff.
