Does anyone know of any indoor swimming pools in leisure centres, hotels etc.. that exist in or around Costa Blanca south area (Guardamar down to La Manga) that can be used by the general public (not bothered about cost).

I have elderly relatives that will be using my apartment during the winter and would like to able to swim but are concerned that the complex pools and the sea will be too cold.

Addresses, directions or even the offer of a collection and drop off service would be greatly apprecited.......................................ok just a general idea of location works just as well.

Cheers

Very nice public pool in the new leisure centre at El Salazar, on the outskirts of Almoradi.

I've heard that there is one in Torrevieja but not sure where.  Before you throw up your hands in horror the main reason for this posting it to see if you are aware that everyone is required to wear a swimming hat in public pools.

Thanks everyone for you quick replies, not sure why hands would be thrown in the air, (please let me know) and as far as swimmimg hats are concerned I didn't know that but the very idea makes me smile, all those syncronise swimmer look-a-likes, is it compulsory to smile in areally cheesy way too ?

I said that because I imagined someone reading it and thinking why post that when you don't know where something is.

I can remember someone talking about an indoor pool in Torrevieja on another forum and they mentioned that you had to wear a swimming cap.  Didn't want your relatives to get to the pool and find that they wouldn't be allowed to swim.

Hi Scrufty,

There's an Olympic sized swimming pool in Torrevieja.

In Spanish, it's called Pabellon de Deportivos and it's just underneath the red number 23 on 2nd map from the top, on the website page here:

http://www.torreviejainformation.com/maps-for-torrevieja/

Scroll down on the page that oipens to find the map.

Hope this helps.

The indoor pool is on the left hand side.

Can somebody tell me where El Salazar is please for the indoor swimming pool. We have recently moved to Catral and thought Steve meant El Saladar which is also on the outskirts of Almoradi, but the pool there is outdoor.

We put El Salazar into Google Earth and came up with an address in Rafal which is about 7 kms from Almoradi, but there is no indoor pool there. Their closest is Callosa.

Can you help please.

Also does anybody know if there is an indoor pool with a slide as my grand-daughter is coming next month and it would be nice for her. We don't mind travelling if it is worth it

Christine
