Hi all

i need some advice here, we usually drive when going to north Spain, but may fly next summer. Is there an airline that offers very cheap flights from any of the midlands or luton airport in peak time?   Is it better do you think, to book early for good prices, or wait for special offers? Family of 4 going for two weeks in school hols'.

I would definitely book early if you are using low cost airlines. Unfortunately most do not publish their summer schedules until October/ November. We have just used Thomson Fly for next whit week and got a very good price for 5, £450. Have a good mooch around!

We were aware a few weeks ago that Easyjet were due to release there London flights for the winter period, so I kept checking the website & just by chance managed to get on there within an hour of the fares being released.

We got 2 flights for 20th - 30th December from Stansted to Almeria for £80 each & also for February half term for £57 each - within the last few weeks the fares have virtually doubled!!!

Our travel is restricted to school holidays as my sister is a teacher so although fares can be higher, we have the advantage of knowing exactly when we can go - almost a year in advance.

Just another thought

We booked late to go to Spain from 17th - 31st August & we used Iberia (although for us to go to Murcia, we had to stopover in Madrid)

At the time their fares were about £250 cheaper than Easyjet & Ryanair. I think we paid £515 for 2 of us including car hire.

Iberia fly direct to Barcelona but the flights are from Heathrow.

we were thinking of driving, not sure if the train is viable from northampton. About 3 hours by car, and still got to get to and from car park.
