Knights insuramce

does anybody know if Knights Insurance is still in business. I heard that they had gone bust and closed.

I had a reminder to renew my insurance from them but want to make sure they are still in business.

I understood they had gone bust, and apart from feeling for the staff who lost their jobs, it could not have happened soon enough. 

They sent me reminders  after I had cancelled the previous year.   Denied I had informed them even  though I had an acknowledgement from them.  And they managed to take a year's premium which I did not notice, and when I did,  refused to refund it !!!!

I don't think they went bust , they closed some of their offices, including Camposol, where Liberty Seguros took over their office and retained the staff.

Johnzx - Knights is the broker but who was your actual insurer? Wouldn't they have refunded it?

Also, don't banks reimburse you within 10 days, if money is wrongly  taken from your account?

I have to laugh when insurance companies want 2 months notice of not renewing insurance with them, as the new quote comes a few days before expiry date or not at all, giving no chance to compare!

Campo I think you know me well enough to know that I would have made very determined effort, which I did, to get my 350 euros premium back.

The only reason I was with them (I had known they were an awful company when I had helped a friend who had full comp with them to recover damages, it was a struggle to get Knight's to get their finger out) was because the broker I was with closed down and had transferred all their business to Knight’s. The  previous year I had recovered 4,000 euros for water damage to carpets from the other company and did not want to change companies in the following year in case they loaded the premium.

The following year I cancelled with Knight’s, that was when they took the premium but I did not notice until they tried to claim another renewal premium the next year.  As I said I had a confirmation  of the cancellation which they denied sending even when I took their email to their office.
