Does anyone have any idea who the company is behind the questionnaires presented to passengers in Departures at Malaga airport? I think it may be some kind of Timeshare outfit.

Thanks!!

It is Club La Costa. They have a resort between Fuengirola and La Cala. If you meet their eligibity criteria you will "win" a short break at their resort but you have to pay for your own flights and attend a presentation.

Thanks for that! I fly in and out of Malaga every month so I'm pretty used to their presence in the Departures area.  There was no hassle at all,in fact she was really nice.......so nice in fact that she was talking to me for ages while I was in the boarding queue, particularly about what she missed in England, and in the end I said I'd send her favourite cake to her when I return to Spain in a couple of weeks. However I lost the details I'd written, and I do so like to keep my promises, hence my trying to track down the company involved! It may well be Club La Costa,I'll email them to ask,but the fact that I remember the word "resorts" appearing on the company t-shirt made me wonder if it might be Diamond Resorts......if only I could remember exactly!!

Presumably they pay a large fee for the privilege. They are a pain. We just say, 'No thanks, we've already got a house and don't need another one.'

Yes Eggcup, I guess you are right.

It makes you wonder how much a contact phone number and a e-mail address is worth to them! They must get a fair return on their money otherwise they wouldn't do it.

Cut them some slack, they're just doing a job, probably the only job available these days, and they're never a problem once you've told them you're resident in Spain.I imagine we're all probably a lot better off than them, and I'm sure the lady in question would really appreciate a piece of her favourite cake!

KJW - it may well have said "resorts" on her t shirt. Club la Costa are part of a group with multiple resorts. I agree that the reps at the airport are not rude if you say no thank you but if you make the mistake of giving them your contact details the people who phone you later are much more agressive.

I used to use Alicante airport a lot and similarly they were offering a free prize draw for holiday homes in brazil

Very nice people, polite and always accepted a no thank you etc.

I was always amazed at how easy a lot of  people gave away their details

You can be pretty damn sure that if she'd been aggressive or in any way unpleasant,I wouldn't be going to all this trouble to supply her with some of her favourite cake!!

Just to update re the saga of Cinderella and the carrot-cake......Club La Costa say they don't have people working at Malaga airport, and Malaga airport says it doesn't have people working there in Departures. This is very strange,if Spain didn't have such a blemish-free record re corruption, one could almost begin to suspect that back-handers may be involved(ho,ho!).Unfortunately,I've now become even more interested in solving this puzzle....as they say,the plot thickens!! (Anyone old enough to remember the Trevor Eve private -eye series from way back, can't remember what it was called?)

And the rest Team GB,pay attention! Got the bit between my teeth now,I like solving puzzles, even more so now that the odd interesting side-issue keeps emerging........just hope that through her accent I didn't mis-hear "carrot",it would be tragic if I got the wrong sort of cake after all this!!

Ah casperruby, but has been commented on elsewhere, there are many pretty young ladies working in these teams,I have seen many myself over the years, but only one that I know places such an inestimable value on carrot-cake!!
